Legal: The rebinding of books is permitted under Section 109(a) of the U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. Section 109(a)), which is also referred to as the “first sale doctrine.” Section 109(a) states that “the owner of a particular copy [of a work] is entitled, without the authority of the copyright owner, to sell or otherwise dispose of that possession of that copy.” This permits the legal purchaser of a copy of a book to alter (and resell) his/her book and specifically exempts such activity from any claim of copyright infringement.
Please note, however, that this permission and our services do not, under any circumstances, extend to counterfeit or otherwise unauthorized duplicates of such works. All books purchased by SpiralAnyBook.com on behalf of buyers are sourced directly from publishers or authorized third-party retailers. Receipt of any such unauthorized works direct from clients will constitute forfeiture and the offending works will be destroyed.
